What is Elasticsearch
Elasticsearch is an open-source search and analytics engine, based on the Lucene library.
It is adapted for all types of data, be it textual, geospatial, numerical, structured, or unstructured. It is the core component of the Elastic Stack, a set of open-source data tools. Elasticsearch was created by Shay Banon and released in 2010.
It is very fast and scalable, and capable of indexing many types of content; this makes it well adapted for different types of search (application, website, and enterprise search), for business analytics, security analytics, geospatial data analysis and visualisation, and more.
