divh2CNA Position/h2pThe CNA is an essential member of the patient care team who contributes to the well-being and comfort of patients during their stay by providing direct and indirect patient care under the direction of the registered nurse./ph3Essential Duties and Responsibilities/h3ulliSupports and promotes the mission and values of Covenant Health Ministry./liliPerforms assigned treatments, procedures, and other related tasks according to facility policies/protocols and within the scope of the CNA position:/liliAssists with personal hygiene, toileting, ambulation, mobility, positioning, mealtime, oral care, and foley drains/ostomies, as needed, utilizing adaptive equipment as indicated./liliActively participates in the established plan of care./liliResponds promptly to call lights, provides transport, maintains a clean environment, and follows principles of infection control./liliAccurately documents on graphic and flow sheets in computer charting:/liullivital signs, weights, and ADL care provided./li/ulliMaintains confidentiality, privacy, and patient rights./liliMaintains required licenses, certifications, and competencies, and completes annual compliance courses on time./liliOrtho Dept - Will work with surgical patients who have had joint replacements and abide by the standards of care set forth by St. Marys Hip Knee Replacement Interdisciplinary Team./liliFloat Pool CNA Reports for assignment and proceeds to any department that the Director/Manager/Nursing Supervisor assigns, without delay./liliMay be asked to float to other departments./liliMaintains required licenses, certifications, and competencies, and completes annual compliance courses on time./liliSupporting student learning is a shared responsibility. Every team member is expected to contribute to creating a welcoming environment and to actively assist students in their educational experience, regardless of their specific role./liliOther duties as consistent with this role./li/ulh3Job Requirements/h3pJob Knowledge and Skills/pulliCrisis Prevention Institute (CPI) training preferred or obtained before completion of orientation./liliResponsible, supportive team player./liliAbility to work well in high-stress situations./li/ulpEducation and Experience/pulliHigh School Diploma/GED preferred./liliState of Maine CNA Certification is required at the time of hire./liliBasic Life Support certification required./li/ulpAn equivalent combination of education and experience which provides proficiency in the areas of responsibility listed above may be substituted for the above education and experience requirements./ppWorking Conditions/Physical Demands/ppOSHA standards Category I, exposure to blood/body fluids or tissue. Must be able to work in a high-paced environment where multi-tasking, prioritizing and sound decision-making skills are required. Exposed to disease, illness, infections, strains, and physical injury. Must possess the physical and mental abilities to perform the tasks normally associated with this position that involves a combination of sitting, (standing up to 8+ hours), twisting, walking, bending, stooping, and reaching. Lifting/carrying frequently up to 35 pounds, occasionally up to 50 lbs. Some stress is related to high level of responsibility for quality care.
