Adelphi is seeking a primary care physician to provide services at a correctional facility in North Carolina.The physician will work on-site within a secure clinical setting and collaborate closely with correctional staff, nurses, and behavioral health teams to ensure continuity and quality of care.

Requirements:

ACLS certifiation
DEA certification
Copy of Post Graduate Training in FM/EM/IM/GP
Minimum of one year post-graduate clinical experience (correctional medicine preferred)
Responsibilities:
Provide medically necessary primary care and chronic disease management to adult offenders housed at the facility.
Perform physical assessments, routine sick calls, chronic care follow-ups, intake evaluations, and urgent care for acute conditions.
Order and interpret diagnostic tests and lab results in accordance with the facility's clinical protocols.
Develop and implement individualized treatment plans and ensure appropriate documentation within the HERO (EMR) system.
Prescribe medications in compliance with the facility's approved formulary and medical guidelines.
Coordinate care with nursing staff, behavioral health providers, and other clinical personnel within the facility.
Ensure continuity of care through appropriate referrals and discharge planning, including communication with outside hospitals when necessary.
Respond to medical emergencies and provide first-line response during on-site incidents.
Participate in quality assurance and peer review processes as required by the facilty.
Comply with all institutional, departmental, and state/federal regulations and policies related to correctional healthcare delivery.
