About the Role
Our client, a leading manufacturer within the construction supply industry, is seeking a reliable and skilled Forklift Driver / Yard worker to join their team. Operating within a modern, fast-paced production environment, this role is essential in ensuring the smooth movement, storage, and handling of products across the site.
Key Responsibilities
- Safely operate forklifts and material-handling equipment
- Load and unload deliveries with accuracy and care
- Transport materials to production and storage areas
- Conduct routine equipment checks and report faults
- Ensure stock is correctly handled and stored
- Support warehouse and production teams as required
- Maintain a clean, organised, and safe working environment
- Follow all health, safety, and environmental procedures
- Comply with company policies and best practices
- Assist with general warehouse duties when needed
Person Specification
Essential
- Valid forklift licence (Counterbalance and/or Reach preferred)
- Previous experience in warehouse, logistics, or manufacturing environments
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team
- Good communication skills
- Reliable and flexible approach to work
Desirable
- Experience in a fast-paced manufacturing setting
- Knowledge of stock control and warehouse processes
- Experience with warehouse or inventory management systems
