About
As a
Principal Data Platform Architect , you will define and enforce enterprise data standards, lead pilots of emerging technologies, and design scalable platforms that power the business. You’ll be expected to
own outcomes end-to-end , move seamlessly from
hands-on architecture
to
executive boardroom demos , and set the bar for technical and strategic excellence across the organization.
This is not a maintenance role. It’s a leadership seat for someone who can
shape the direction of enterprise architecture
in a company scaling at an unprecedented pace.
Key Responsibilities
Define and enforce
enterprise-wide architecture standards
for data ingestion, modeling, governance, and integration.
Architect
scalable, secure, and high-performance platforms
leveraging
Python, Snowflake, Dagster, Azure, and containerization technologies .
Establish
Dagster orchestration patterns and frameworks
as the enterprise standard, ensuring resiliency, observability, and reproducibility across data workflows.
Lead high-visibility
pilots and proofs-of-concept , introducing bleeding-edge technologies to the enterprise.
Leadership & Execution
Serve as the
final escalation point
for complex architectural challenges.
Lead cross-functional teams under pressure, providing
clarity and authority
in ambiguous, high-stakes situations.
Mentor senior engineers and architects, raising the standard across the organization.
Stakeholder Engagement
Operate directly with
executives and senior leadership , shaping architectural decisions tied to business outcomes.
Deliver
boardroom-level demos and presentations
that drive strategic alignment.
Build strong, trusted relationships across IT, business, and product teams.
Governance & Reliability
Partner with Data Ops and DevOps to ensure
governance, observability, compliance, and reliability
at enterprise scale.
Implement
monitoring, alerting, and CI/CD practices for Dagster pipelines , ensuring production readiness.
Drive platform roadmaps and prioritize initiatives based on
strategic enterprise value .
Constantly scout emerging technologies, leading adoption where they create advantage.
Redefine
best practices and patterns
across enterprise architecture.
Push boundaries, ensuring the organization stays ahead of competitors in
data platform innovation .
Core Requirements
10+ years
in
data architecture, data engineering, or enterprise solutions , with
3+ years in leadership or consulting roles .
Expert-level proficiency in Python, Snowflake, and Dagster :
Advanced data modeling, performance tuning, and optimization in Snowflake.
Hands-on orchestration expertise in Dagster , including asset-based workflows, partitioned jobs, scheduling, and observability.
Proven ability to establish
enterprise-wide Dagster frameworks
and lead teams in their adoption.
Deep experience with
Azure cloud services , containerization/orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes, Azure Container Apps), and modern CI/CD practices.
Proven history of
architecting and scaling enterprise-grade data platforms
in demanding environments.
Consulting pedigree : client-facing leadership, rapid promotion history, and success in navigating ambiguous, complex projects.
Exceptional
communication and executive presence ; equally confident in deep technical design and in
C-suite conversations .
A track record of
