We are seeking a highly skilled
Bookkeeping Manager
to lead our bookkeeping team and manage a portfolio of clients. In this role you’ll be responsible for ensuring the accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of client financial records while strengthening the systems and processes that keep our firm running at the highest level of quality and compliance. Responsibilities
Quality Control & Accuracy Review monthly reconciliations, financial reports, and journal entries prepared by the bookkeeping team. Identify errors or inconsistencies and guide bookkeepers in correcting them. Implement and monitor internal controls to ensure accuracy, timeliness, and compliance. Team Leadership & Client Management Oversee, mentor, and train bookkeepers to ensure high-quality work and professional growth while also managing a portfolio of your own bookkeeping clients. Establish clear performance expectations and provide regular feedback. Promote accountability, collaboration, and a culture of continuous improvement. Help oversee and manage the shared company inbox. Technical Expertise Handle complex accounting tasks such as asset capitalization, loan transactions, and payroll reconciliations. Serve as the point of escalation for technical questions or unusual accounting scenarios. Qualifications
Experience : QBO Certification (QuickBooks Online) with a minimum of 5 years of professional bookkeeping experience in a multi-client environment. Leadership : 2+ years of supervisory or team lead experience with a proven ability to review work, delegate effectively and coach team members to elevate overall performance. Attention to Detail : Commitment to delivering accurate, consistent, and high-quality work. Strong Communicator : Clear, professional communicator who builds strong relationships both internally and with our clients. Problem Solving : Analytical mindset with a solution-oriented approach Located in the United States Preferred Experience
Google Sheets or Excel Payroll systems (e.g., Gusto) Project management tools (e.g., Asana, Keeper) Receipt management software (e.g., Hubdoc) Online payment platforms (e.g., Stripe, PayPal, Clover) 1099 Filing Platforms (e.g., Track1099) What We're Looking For

Quality Control : Audit team-prepared reconciliations and reports, provide timely feedback, and ensure corrections are documented. Coaching & Support : Hold short check-ins with team members, answer questions, and offer guidance on complex transactions or system issues. Client Work : Manage your own portfolio of bookkeeping clients, delivering accurate reconciliations, reporting, and timely responses to client needs. Client Inbox Oversight : Monitor the shared company inbox, delegate requests, and ensure timely and professional responses. Onboarding & Projects : Assist with onboarding new clients, oversee system integrations, and lead special projects such as clean-ups, audit prep, or 1099 reviews. Leadership & Improvement : Meet with upper management to review team progress, highlight issues, and recommend process improvements that increase efficiency and accuracy.
