About
_Modular Dual-Fuel Medium-Speed Engine Plant | EMEA_
*Company:* Navita Technical
*Location:* Dublin, Ireland - relocation package available for right candidate.
*Contract:* PAYE (permanent) or Contractor — open to both; package tailored accordingly *Reporting to:* Technical Programme Manager
*Salary:* Contingent on experience, location and engagement type (PAYE vs. contractor)
*About the role*
We are seeking a number of technically-strong Project Managers to lead the deployment and delivery of modular power generation plants based on dual-fuel medium-speed reciprocating engines. You will take single-point accountability for projects from contract award through engineering coordination, commissioning, commercial operation and handover to O&M.
Our projects sit across the EMEA region and span a mix of utility-scale IPP, industrial captive power, and remote / off-grid installations. This is a hands-on role: you will be on site when it matters, in the office when it doesn't, and equally comfortable in a design review, a FAT at an OEM factory, or a client steering committee.
*Key responsibilities*
* Own end-to-end project delivery — scope, schedule, quality, risk, — from contract award through to commercial operation.
* Act as the principal technical and commercial interface for the client, with their EPC partners, OEMs, civil and electrical subcontractors, SCADA/controls integrators, and grid operators.
* Coordinate multi-disciplinary engineering across mechanical, electrical, I&C/SCADA, civil and balance-of-plant packages.
* Manage engine Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT), Site Acceptance Tests (SAT), commissioning, grid synchronisation, performance testing and reliability runs.
* Drive schedule and budget performance; track earned value, variations, change orders and claims.
* Chair project reviews, risk workshops and progress meetings; prepare executive-level reporting to senior leadership and the client.
* Ensure compliance with local grid codes, national electrical / mechanical standards, environmental permitting and HSE requirements in each host country.
* Manage multiple concurrent projects at different stages across EMEA; prioritise your own time and the supporting team's resources accordingly.
* Support pre-contract work — technical proposal reviews, execution planning, risk identification — where required.
*Essential experience and skills*
* Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Control & Instrumentation engineering (or equivalent).
* 7+ years in technical project management roles in power generation, oil & gas, or marine engineering.
* Demonstrable track record delivering projects involving medium-speed multi-fuel reciprocating engines, dual-fuel gas/liquid-fuel engines, or gas turbine power plant.
* Strong working knowledge of SCADA / DCS systems, generator protection and controls, synchronisation and paralleling, and balance-of-plant auxiliaries.
* Proven ability to manage complex, multi-disciplinary projects on time and on budget, including subcontractor and vendor management.
* Strong commercial acumen — contract interpretation, variation management, claims, and schedule recovery.
* Excellent written and verbal English; confident communicator with senior stakeholders and clients.
* Willingness and ability to travel extensively across EMEA (typically 40–60%, project-dependent).
* EU right to work is a requirement. Ability to obtain visas for EMEA travel (Middle East, North Africa etc.) as projects require.
*Desirable*
* Experience with IPP, captive industrial power, or remote / off-grid generation.
* Exposure to LNG, natural gas, HFO, MDO or diesel dual-fuel operations and associated fuel systems.
* Familiarity with major engine OEMs (e.g. Wärtsilä, MAN Energy Solutions, Rolls-Royce Bergen, Caterpillar) and turbine OEMs (Siemens Energy, GE Vernova, Solar).
* Experience interfacing with transmission / distribution system operators and grid-code compliance processes.
* Additional languages — German, French, Arabic, Portuguese or Turkish particularly valuable for EMEA project coverage.
* Chartered Engineer (CEng IMechE / IET) or equivalent professional registration.
* PMP, PRINCE2, APM PMQ or equivalent project management certification.
*What we offer*
* Engagement type flexible: PAYE (permanent) with full benefits, or day-rate contractor — package structured to suit the right candidate.
* Competitive base / day-rate, commensurate with experience and project location.
* Travel, accommodation and subsistence covered for all project-related travel.
* Exposure to high-profile, technically complex power projects across diverse EMEA markets.
* A lean, senior team where your judgement will directly shape project outcomes.
* Clear progression route into programme management or senior operations leadership.
*How to apply*
Please submit your CV and a short covering note outlining (1) two projects you have personally led that are relevant to this role, and (2) your availability and travel flexibility. Shortlisted candidates will be invited to a technical interview with our engineering and operations leadership.
