Providing senior technical leadership for core scientific data systems, the full-time Lead Scientific Data Engineer will develop implementation roadmaps and architectures while managing production automated systems and workflows to support genomic data movement and AI capabilities in a hybrid work environment. Key responsibilities
Develop technical implementation roadmaps and long-term strategies for scientific data and compute platforms Design and implement automated systems, APIs, and workflows for genomic data management and large-scale scientific computing Enhance the reliability and scalability of shared production data systems while ensuring sustainable operations
Required qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field and a minimum of 12 years of relevant experience Experience in designing, developing, and operating production software and data systems for metadata management and workflow orchestration Advanced knowledge of data and software engineering fundamentals for data-intensive distributed systems Broad experience with databases and data storage technologies, including relational databases and object storage Proficiency in Python and experience with additional programming languages
