Production Supervisor 1st Shift

Location: Waco, TX, United States

Production Supervisor General Summary: Coordinates and directs the activities of the production department to maximize productivity and minimize cost while maintaining quality. Inspects product to verify production specifications are met. Trains and supervises production personnel.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned as production demands may require.

  • Ensures that all applicable state and federal requirements are met regarding OSHA, food safety, and fair employment practices in assigned area of responsibility.
  • Supervises the day-to-day activities of production operations and personnel to meet established production and quality control standards.
  • Ensures activities meet short-term goals established for production continuity and balance such as creating shift schedules, ordering materials, machine loading, grievance resolution, and equipment maintenance.
  • Works with other plant function areas as needed to ensure support in attaining output, productivity, and quality.
  • Schedules, trains, and motivates production labor force to ensure consistent attainment of production schedules at optimum productivity and cost levels. Interviews and recommends individuals for open positions.
  • Recommends improvements in production flow or methods.
  • Uses operating methods and procedures designed to eliminate operating problems and to improve product quality.
  • Notifies management personnel of machines and/or equipment that could be modified to improve production and quality of products. Performs other related duties as assigned to support production demands as may be specified by customer or client.

What You'll Need

  • Education: High School Diploma/GED; College Degree in related field preferred.
  • Experience: 1 or more years of previous supervisory experience with leadership skills of 20+ employees preferred. Poultry or food industry experience is a plus.
  • Skills: Effective communication both orally and in writing, capable of independent decision making, must have basic computer knowledge, ability to manage multiple priorities. Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
