Job Description CGI is seeking an experienced Senior Data Analyst to support large-scale data initiatives within a highly regulated financial services environment. This role is responsible for gathering and analyzing business and data requirements, translating them into database and ETL specifications, and ensuring data solutions align with business objectives. The successful candidate will work closely with business stakeholders, development teams, and QA resources throughout the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC). The role is located at a client site in Reston, VA, with a hybrid working model acceptable.
Responsibilities
Define source-to-target mappings and document business processes.
Validate data loads, develop and execute test scenarios, and support resolution of complex data quality issues.
Translate business requirements into detailed database, data mapping, and ETL specifications.
Collaborate across technical and business teams, managing multiple priorities.
Develop, execute, and support testing activities for data loads and data quality validation.
Required Qualifications
8+ years of experience in software development, data analysis, or related technology roles supporting large-scale, complex enterprise projects.
Strong understanding and practical experience with the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC).
Ability to translate business requirements into detailed database, data mapping, and ETL specifications.
Experience creating and maintaining source‑to‑target mapping documentation.
Advanced SQL skills for data analysis, validation, and database querying.
Strong understanding of data warehousing, data integration, and ETL processes.
Experience documenting business processes, workflows, and functional requirements.
Ability to develop, execute, and support testing activities for data loads and data quality validation.
Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills with attention to detail.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including stakeholder interaction.
Ability to manage multiple assignments and priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
Experience investigating, troubleshooting, and resolving data‑related issues.
Desired Skills
Experience with financial data domains (loan servicing, risk, compliance, reporting, or capital markets).
Experience with data governance and data quality frameworks.
Knowledge of AWS data services such as Amazon S3, AWS Glue, Redshift, Athena or related cloud‑based data platforms.
Experience with regulatory reporting and audit‑ready documentation practices.
Experience working in enterprise‑scale financial services environments.
Exposure to cloud‑based data platforms and AWS environments.
Education Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field.
Compensation Range $121,200.00 – $154,300.00 (U.S.; based on skill set, level, experience, training, and certifications).
