The Quality Assurance Engineer is responsible for assisting the Quality Assurance Supervisor in establishing, implementing, and continually improving the performance of the Quality Management System.
Primary Responsibilities
Interface with Sales, Materials, Engineering, Production and Customers to ensure applicable requirements and customer expectations are being fully understood and satisfied.
Support the Quality Inspectors to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of our customers and the Quality Management System.
Resolve and prevent the reoccurrence of various quality issues relative to product, process, customer complaints, and quality system requirements.
Develop and maintain project quality documentation such as supplements, records, Inspection and Test Plans (ITP), Manufacturing Procedure Specifications (MPS), etc.
Supporting the processes of planning, organizing, and managing all project quality related activities including release of clear instructions to production and QC personnel.
Analyzing the need for and managing correction actions for process related concerns, negative trends in business metrics, and product nonconformances using appropriate analytical tools.
Assist in the development and maintenance of procedures within the Quality Management System.
Education / Experience
High School Diploma or GED is required.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Quality, or Industrial Engineering is preferred.
5-10 years related experience in manufacturing or similar field where the reading and interpretation of technical requirements was a routine task of the position.
Experience working under an ISO-9001 certified QMS or similar Standard is required.
Experience in supplying materials to the nuclear industry is a plus.
