This position offers the chance to work on projects that will play a critical role in supporting the energy transition and delivering a secure, sustainable, and low-carbon electricity system.
The successful candidate will lead projects from initial concept and opportunity assessment through development, investment approval, and handover to construction.
Key Responsibilities Lead multidisciplinary project teams through all phases of project development, from concept to Final Investment Decision (FID).
Identify and evaluate new business opportunities, including greenfield and brownfield developments, emerging technologies, and potential acquisition opportunities.
Drive a strong safety culture across all projects and ensure adherence to established safety management systems.
Develop, manage, and maintain robust project business cases.
Ensure projects are delivered in line with governance, technical, commercial, regulatory, and programme requirements.
Manage stakeholder relationships, including grid operators, regulatory bodies, landowners, local authorities, and industry partners.
Oversee procurement strategies, contract negotiations, and the management of key project agreements.
Assess, manage, and report project risks throughout the development lifecycle.
Present project updates, business cases, and recommendations to senior leadership and project governance boards.
Monitor market, regulatory, and technology developments to inform project strategy and decision-making.
About You Essential Requirements Minimum of 5 years' experience in project development, project management, or business development within the energy, utilities, infrastructure, or related sectors.
Demonstrated track record of leading complex projects from concept through to investment approval and delivery.
Strong commercial acumen with experience in negotiations, contract management, and business case development.
Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams and drive projects independently.
Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Degree qualification in Engineering or a related discipline.
Desirable Experience Experience developing energy generation, battery storage, or renewable energy projects.
Knowledge of UK and Irish energy markets and regulatory frameworks.
Understanding of power generation, flexibility markets, and energy storage technologies.
Experience with procurement processes and contract strategies.
Financial modelling and project appraisal experience.
Professional project management qualifications (PMP, PRINCE2, or equivalent).
