Engineering Manager

Location: Fully Remote (strong preference for EST)

Duration: 9-month contract

The Engineering Manager will lead a distributed team of 59 software engineers supporting critical backend services, experimentation platforms, and feature delivery systems across desktop and mobile products. This role will partner closely with Product and cross-functional teams to drive technical excellence, improve user experiences, and deliver scalable solutions.

• Lead and support a geographically distributed engineering team in a fast-paced environment
• Balance short-term delivery needs with long-term technical strategy across backend services
• Partner with Product, UX, QA, Operations, and Data Science teams to execute roadmap initiatives
• Define team goals, manage project timelines, and communicate risks and priorities
• Improve engineering processes and team effectiveness
• Conduct regular one-on-ones focused on technical guidance and career development
• Support hiring efforts and team growth
• Foster an inclusive, collaborative, and high-performing team culture

• 6+ years of experience leading engineering teams within software development environments
• Strong communication skills with experience working across distributed teams
• Technical background in software engineering with the ability to guide technical decisions
• Experience with technologies such as JavaScript, Python, and/or Rust; Kotlin and Swift are a plus
• Background in API development and scalable service architecture supporting large user bases
• Strong collaboration, problem-solving, and leadership skills
• Experience mentoring, developing, and empowering engineering teams across multiple locations
