Lifesteps is a non-profit human services organization which has been serving Western Pennsylvania for nearly 100 years by "helping individuals and families with life's changing needs". The Agency provides programs and services to help those with special needs live to their fullest potential. If you have a strong desire to help others and serve the community, this is the right opportunity for you. Position Summary:
The Medical Assistant / Health Educator will provide health education, in a home-based or office setting, to families with young children and/or families that are expecting a child. The MA will work closely with the Home Visitor staff on case management and also provide training as needed. The Health Educator reviews child health assessments, conducts health and welfare recommendations and referrals, conducts prenatal and post-natal wellness checks. The MA / Health Educator assures compliance with health components of the "Head Start Performance Standards" and "Head Start Act" documentation. This part-time position works Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 8:00am to 4:30pm. No Evenings, No Weekends, No Holidays! (Other days of the week can be considered, but would need to work 3 days per week.) Total of 24 hours worked weekly.
QUALIFICATIONS:Required: • High School Diploma or GED AND training and experience in public health, nursing, health education, maternal and child health, or health administration. • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite applications including Word, Excel and Outlook. • Must possess a valid driver's license which legally permits operating an Agency Vehicle in Pennsylvania
- Proof of automobile insurance coverage - Lift, push or pull up to 25 pounds without assistance
