Bryan Research & Engineering, LLC Degree Requirements B.S., M.S., or Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering Job Overview We are seeking innovators to join our newly formed Applications Engineering (AE) Team at Bryan Research & Engineering, LLC (BR&E). In this role, you will work closely with other AE Team members to develop and deploy automated ProMax® models tailored to customer facilities, driving enhanced reliability and process optimization in the energy and chemicals industries. This position offers opportunities to leverage your technical expertise, problem-solving skills, and passion for invention to deliver impactful solutions that shape the future of energy. Key Responsibilities Model Development: Design and implement automated ProMax models as soft sensors to optimize oil & gas and petrochemical processes using real-time plant data. Customer Collaboration: Partner with clients to understand their facility operations, process requirements, and optimization goals. Process Optimization: Analyze simulations to identify opportunities for improving reliability, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness of customer facilities. Project Management: Manage projects from initial scope to final delivery, ensuring timely completion. Knowledge Sharing: Publish and present technical papers at professional forums, conferences, and associations. Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with BR&E’s Development Team to enhance ProMax capabilities, incorporating feedback from customer applications. Qualifications Experience: Work experience in a plant production environment in oil & gas or related industries (upstream/midstream, refining, and petrochemicals) is preferred. Hands‑on experience applying process simulation software to solve challenging problems. Experience with process control systems and process troubleshooting is a plus.
Skills: Creative problem‑solving and analytical abilities. Polished communication skills for collaborating with clients and internal teams. Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast‑paced environment. Familiarity with scripting (e.g., Python, VBA) is desirable. Familiarity with database programming and data historians is also desirable.
Travel: Travel to customer locations for on‑site support or to industry conferences (5-10% travel expected).
