Job Description Job Summary: The X-ray/Rad Tech performs radiologic examinations, providing high-quality diagnostic images while ensuring patient safety and comfort across all age groups. They operate imaging equipment, assist physicians, and uphold radiation safety standards in a fast-paced healthcare environment. Responsibilities:
Prepare examination rooms and equipment according to departmental protocols and physician specifications. Identify and position patients accurately, explaining procedures to ensure cooperation and alleviating fears. Operate radiologic equipment, including portable and fluoroscopic units, ensuring optimal image quality. Administer contrast media as directed, monitor patient reactions, and communicate findings with radiologists or physicians. Transport patients to and from the radiology department, providing necessary comfort and care. Maintain radiation safety by properly using protective equipment, adhering to shielding standards, and staying current on safety practices. Qualifications:
Graduate of an AMA-accredited Radiologic Technology program or eligible for ARRT certification. Minimum of 2 years experience in a radiology department preferred. Knowledge of departmental procedures, image acquisition, and patient care protocols. Current CPR certification. Ability to read, interpret, and follow written instructions, MRI safety policies, and radiation safety standards. Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare personnel. Benefits & Growth:
