Performing thorough patient evaluations, ordering necessary diagnostic tests, and crafting personalized care plans Diagnosing and managing acute, chronic, or episodic conditions independently or in collaboration with physicians (as per credentialing) Providing education to patients and families focused on wellness, prevention, and disease management Prescribing medications and treatments within your scope of practice Engaging in follow-up care and chronic condition management Working alongside interdisciplinary teams to provide coordinated, comprehensive care Meticulously documenting in electronic medical records (EMR) to ensure accurate patient information Qualifications
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Graduation from an accredited Nurse Practitioner program Certifications Needed
Active Nurse Practitioner licensure in Virginia National board certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or specialty equivalent Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications (or ability to secure within 90 days) Special Skills That Will Shine
