Dermatology Physician This is an OPEN CONTINUOUS ANNOUNCEMENT. Eligible applicants will be referred until all vacancies are filled. This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application. Evaluating, diagnosis, consulting, and ordering diagnostic studies. Provides fact-to-face and Tele-dermatology care/consultation. Performing surgical and non-surgical Dermatology procedures on the skin and to particular skin lesions as appropriate on all ages who have presented with injuries or diseases of the disorders of the integumentary system (skin, mouth, external genitalia, hair, and nails.) Providing consultative series on patients referred from other sections of the Hospital and affiliated outpatient clinics. Providing emergency Dermatology services/coverage as assigned.
Performs the administrative components of patient care management, such as:
Will be actively involved in teaching residents and students and will periodically direct Noon Conferences for their didactic training. Participate in the educational programs for Dermatology and physician personnel as well as the medical staff. Participate in monitoring the quality, safety and appropriateness of patient care. Demonstrate ethical conduct and serve as a positive role model to others at all levels of the organization. Participate in the quality assurance programs and chart reviews. Attend Medicine Service monthly staff meetings and Medical/Dental quarterly staff meetings. Complete medical records in accordance with Bylaws and Rules and Regulations of the Medical Staff. Participate in the Medical Staff committee assignments. Perform other duties assigned by the Chief of Medicine. In the performance of official duties, the Dermatology Physician will have regular access to printed and electronic files containing sensitive data which must be protected under the provisions of the Privacy Act of 1974 and other applicable laws, federal regulations, VA statues and policy, and VHA policy. Physicians will be responsible for protecting the data from unauthorized release or from loss and or alteration, or unauthorized deletion. Miscellaneous activities of the Medical Service including committee assignments, QA activities, and other special projects that help fulfill and/or enhance the mission of the Department of Veterans Affairs as assigned by the Chief, Dermatology Section, Medical Service or West Palm Beach VAMC Executive Leadership. Participate in, and attend, CME activities and VA continuing educational activities.
Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. (Note: Work schedules are determined and approved by the supervisor. The incumbent may be required to work various shifts on a permanent or temporary basis based on facility/patient care needs).
