Design, implement and evaluate Music Therapy interventions to address the biopsychosocial needs of hospitalized patients and families as appropriate.
Serve as clinical and educational resource for the hospital units and professional community regarding music therapy practice.
Assist and participate in research as needed, working with teams to develop research topics and protocols, conducting research, gathering results and assisting in articles for submission.
Assist Music Therapy Department as needed to develop and evaluate music therapy programs and initiatives.
Coordinate therapy observation experiences, write reports and collaborate on other projects as needed.
Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Bachelor's Degree or equivalent from a program accredited by the American Music Therapy Association (AMTA)
Music Therapist Board Certified (MT-BC) from the Certification Board for Music Therapists required
Licensed Professional Music Therapist (LPMT) through the state licensing board required
Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross ; must be obtained within the first 90 days of hire
Valid Ohio Driver's License upon hire; per policy 8-175 thereafter
Proof of automobile insurance coverage with $100,000/$300,000 upon hire; per policy 8-175 thereafter
One year of experience providing music therapy services (consideration will be made for time spent in practicum or internship providing music therapy services)
Excellent verbal, written, interpersonal, and musical skills
Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:
Three years of experience providing Music Therapy in a hospital or healthcare setting
Master's Degree in Music Therapy OR Master's Degree in a related field (i.e., Counseling, Social Work, Psychology, etc.) if the candidate has a Bachelor's Degree
Physical Requirements:
Standing and walking at least 75% of the time; sitting less than 25% of the time; hand and finger dexterity and reaching with arms and hands at least 75% of the time, close vision and depth perception at least 75% of the time; hearing and talking more than 80% of the time; and pushing and pulling at least 75% of the time.
Personal Protective Equipment:
Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
Pay Range Minimum hourly: $20.77 Maximum hourly: $31.68 The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate's actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate's work history, experience, skill set and education. The pay range displayed does not include any applicable pay practices (e.g., shift differentials, overtime, etc.).
