Executing thorough patient evaluations, initiating diagnostic tests, and developing customized care plans Diagnosing and addressing acute, chronic, or episodic health issues in partnership with physicians or autonomously (based on your credentials) Educating patients and their families on preventative health, wellness, and management of diseases Prescribing medications and treatments within your professional scope Engaging in patient follow-ups and chronic care management Collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to provide comprehensive, coordinated care Documenting all relevant patient data accurately in the electronic medical record system (EMR) Education Essentials
Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) or Doctor of Nursing Practice (DNP) Completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program Certifications Required
Valid Nurse Practitioner license in the state of Texas National certification as a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP-C, AANP or ANCC) or equivalent specialty certification Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification (or ability to obtain within 90 days) What Makes You Stand Out
