Job Responsibilities
Conduct comprehensive assessments on patients spanning pediatric to geriatric populations, employing both standardized tests and observational methods. Create tailored treatment strategies addressing immediate goals as well as long-standing communication, cognitive, or swallowing issues. Deliver individualized speech therapy sessions focusing on aspects like communication, language, fluency, voice, and swallowing. Work in tandem with physical and occupational therapists, nurses, doctors, caregivers, and families to ensure cohesive care strategies. Educate patients and their families to encourage continued progress outside of your sessions. Participate in occasional inpatient evaluations and interventions, guaranteeing seamless continuity in care throughout therapy. Keep precise and timely documentation in accordance with established regulations. Engage in ongoing professional education and collaborate with peers to stay abreast of developments in the field. Qualifications
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from a reputable institution. Completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) is required if ASHA certification is pending. Licenses and Certifications
State licensure as a Speech Language Pathologist. Certification of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA is preferred. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within 30 days of commencing employment. Essential Skills
