Key Responsibilities
Conduct assessments of patients spanning pediatric, adult, and geriatric demographics using a blend of standardized measures and observational methods. Create tailored treatment strategies aimed at fulfilling both immediate objectives and enduring communication or swallowing needs. Implement targeted speech therapy interventions that encompass a spectrum of areas including communication, fluency, language, voice, and swallowing. Engage in teamwork with physical therapists, occupational therapists, nursing staff, physicians, caregivers, and families to craft unified care plans. Educate patients and their families to encourage progress and understanding outside of therapy sessions. Occasionally contribute to inpatient speech therapy assessments and interventions, ensuring comprehensive care throughout the therapeutic timeline. Maintain clear and precise documentation that adheres to state, federal, and organizational regulations. Advance your expertise by staying up-to-date with the latest trends and research in the field through ongoing education and collaborative learning. Qualifications
Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited institution. Successful completion of a Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) if still in the process of obtaining ASHA certification. Required Certifications
Active state license as a Speech Language Pathologist. Preferred holding of the Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) from ASHA. Basic Life Support (BLS) certification must be obtained within the initial 30 days of employment. Essential Skills
