Now hiring a Sterile Processing Technician! The Sterile Processing Tech is responsible for the daily activities and operations of the Sterile Processing Room within the Operating Room to provide sterile instruments and supplies in accordance with professional standards. The ideal candidate will:
Possess knowledge of sterile techniques, instrumentation, identification, use, and understands the importance of infection prevention Ensure equipment is cleaned, inspected, tested, and maintained according to principles of sterile technique, thereby consistently maintaining instrumentation and documentation needed for caseload Troubleshoot problems related to equipment, supplies and service. Takes appropriate corrective action when a break in technique occurs and informs the appropriate personnel Exercise caution when using chemicals/cleaning fluids that are toxic or caustic and ensures that solid/infectious waste is collected and delivered to the collection area on time per MSDS and OSHA regulations Monitor operative schedule and communicates with vendors and representatives to ensure required supplies and implants are available for continuity of provisions of services Be responsible for maintaining State and Federal sterility paperwork and other needed documentation to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations Have regular and predictable attendance Possess the ability to work cooperatively with others Performs all other duties as assigned
Skills & Abilities Education:
High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED) required.
Experience:
1 year of sterile processing experience is required. Knowledge of methods and procedures for contamination control. Knowledge of surgical instruments, equipment, and supplies.
Certifications:
Certified Sterile Processor Certification is required and must be maintained. BLS certification is required.
