Location : Dallas, TX , Middletown, NJ , Atlanta, GA Onsite Hybrid 2 days
ServiceNow Vulnerability Response & Configuration Compliance Senior Engineer / Developer
Role summary
Seeking a highly experienced ServiceNow Security Operations professional with deep hands-on expertise in Vulnerability Response (VR) and Configuration Compliance (CC) configuration, implementation, and optimization. The role is responsible for designing, configuring, and supporting scalable SecOps workflows that ingest scanner data, correlate findings to CMDB assets, prioritize work using business and threat context, and orchestrate remediation through IT operations and change processes.
The ideal candidate will be strong in end-to-end ServiceNow solutioning across scanner integrations, CMDB alignment, remediation workflows, risk-based prioritization, task orchestration, dashboards, and governance controls. The role should be able to translate security and compliance requirements into robust platform configuration with minimal custom code and strong operational sustainability.
Core responsibilities
Vulnerability Response Configure and enhance ServiceNow Vulnerability Response to ingest, normalize, and manage findings from third-party scanners and vulnerability sources. Design and maintain workflows for vulnerability grouping, assignment, remediation task creation, prioritization, SLA management, and exception handling. Configure risk-based prioritization using CVE severity, exploitability, threat intelligence, internet exposure, business criticality, and service context from the CMDB. Enable tight coordination between security, infrastructure, application, and change teams for patching and remediation execution.
Configuration Compliance Configure ServiceNow Configuration Compliance to aggregate and operationalize secure configuration assessment results from supported third-party SCA tools. Build and optimize workflows for misconfiguration intake, prioritization, assignment, routing, remediation, and tracking across technology teams. Align configuration findings to CMDB services, assets, controls, and business impact to improve service-aware prioritization and reporting. Support integration of Configuration Compliance with change management and, where applicable, GRC / policy and compliance management for control mapping and risk visibility.
Platform design and operations Configure and maintain business rules, flows, transform maps, import processes, assignment logic, notifications, task templates, and reporting components supporting VR and CC operations. Drive strong data quality practices across CMDB, CI identification, ownership mapping, and remediation routing because VR and CC both depend on asset and service context for accurate prioritization and handoff. Partner with stakeholders across Security Operations, Vulnerability Management, Infrastructure, Cloud, Application Support, and Compliance to define use cases and release plans. Produce technical design documents, runbooks, configuration standards, and test scenarios for enhancements and deployments.
Must-have experience 5+ years of hands-on ServiceNow development / configuration experience, with strong recent experience in Security Operations. Demonstrated expertise in ServiceNow Vulnerability Response configuration, implementation, and workflow optimization. Demonstrated expertise in ServiceNow Configuration Compliance configuration, remediation workflow design, and CMDB-based prioritization. Strong understanding of integrating scanner and assessment data from tools such as Qualys, Tenable, Rapid7, or similar sources into ServiceNow workflows. Strong working knowledge of CMDB, CI reconciliation/matching, service mapping context, assignment routing, and remediation tasking. Experience integrating SecOps workflows with ITSM / Change Management for patching and remediation governance. Strong hands-on skill in Flow Designer, Integration Hub, import sets, transform maps, business rules, ACL awareness, notifications, reports, and dashboards.
