Exempt QUALIFICATIONS:
Must hold proper state certification REPORTS TO: Principal and/or other Supervisor The SLP shall assess students and provide therapeutic intervention to students exhibiting speech, language and/or voice disorders to reduce problems impacting functioning in the educational setting. Duties shall include but are not limited to:
Student screenings for determination of speech/ language evaluation needs Speech/ language evaluations and interpretation of results. Development of Individual Education Plans and implementation of treatment Maintenance of progress notes for progress monitoring and reporting. Collaborate with teachers to implement classroom activities and supports to promote speech and language skills of students. Provide staff development and support related to speech and language functioning of students. Demonstrate effective and positive interpersonal relationships with staff, students and community.
Must be able to collaborate with peers, possess a positive attitude and be flexible with change.
OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS:
Abide by state statutes, school board policies and regulations. Attend meetings and performs duties as assigned by administrators or supervisors. Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities. Maintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy and administrative regulation. Serve on committees as assigned.
