San Diego Humane Society is hiring a Full-Time Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) for our Community Veterinary Program! One of the greatest challenges facing pet families in San Diego is access to affordable veterinary care. Our Community Veterinary Program (CVP) helps give owned pets the medical care they need, including low-cost preventative and basic sick care, pharmacy services, and basic grooming like nail trims and ear cleanings. Through these essential services, we help keep animals with their families and out of shelters.

Assist staff veterinarians with exams, procedures and other duties as assigned Perform emergency procedures (within the scope of a licensed RVT) as instructed by staff veterinarian Administer treatments and procedures & prepare and administer anesthetics Monitor animals before, during and post-surgery Support training of animal services staff members, volunteers, and interns, as well as new RVTs and Vet Assistants What we're looking for:
California Registered Veterinary Technician (RVT) licensure required Minimum of one (1) year clinical and/or shelter experience in veterinary environment required. Must have a valid driver's license and be approved by SDHS insurance carrier to drive a company or personal vehicle for work purposes. Will be required to drive mobile unit and must have experience driving large vehicles or be willing to be trained on driving the mobile unit. Bilingual skills a plus, Bilingual-Spanish preferred
Location & Hours: Based at our San Diego Campus, with the occasion of off-site special and mobile events. Travel to other campuses, areas within the community and working on a mobile unit is required. Work hours may be weekdays, evenings, weekends, holidays and special events. Pay: Starting range is between $26.60 - $29.61 per hour and is eligible for an hourly bilingual-Spanish premium. The actual hourly rate is determined by your related education and experience. The listed hiring range for this position depicts the target range of pay rates for candidates. The maximum of the hiring range is reserved for candidates with the highest qualifications and relevant experience. Compensation for internal candidates may increase beyond the listed range based on performance over time. For all candidates, the actual starting pay rate is determined by a variety of factors, including but not limited to your years of related education and experience, internal pay equity, and position location.
