Certification by the American Board of Radiology in Therapeutic Physics or the American Board of Medical Physics, or completion of certification within one year of eligibility. Ph.D. in Medical Physics from a CAMPEP-accredited program. Completion of a two-year residency in Medical Physics. Key Responsibilities:
Equipment Maintenance: Ensure calibration, maintenance, and quality assurance of radiation therapy and diagnostic imaging equipment. Safety Compliance: Monitor and ensure compliance with regulatory standards and safety protocols related to radiation usage. Treatment Planning: Collaborate with medical teams to create and implement radiation treatment plans, including dosimetry calculations and treatment optimization. Patient Safety: Monitor and assess radiation exposure levels for both patients and staff, ensuring safety and adherence to guidelines. Training & Education: Educate and provide support to medical staff on radiation safety practices and emerging technologies. Documentation: Maintain accurate records of equipment performance, safety checks, and treatment plans.
