Vascular Access Registered Nurse Children's Minnesota is one of the largest pediatric health systems in the United States and the only health system in Minnesota to provide care exclusively to children, from before birth through young adulthood. Position Summary The Vascular Access Registered Nurse provides expert peripheral intravenous (PIV), PICC line placements and other vascular access related tasks. This includes developing (as needed) and maintaining clinical expertise in the placement of PICC lines, teaching and mentoring RN's on the floors about basic IV care such as the use of safety catheters, being a clinical expert resource for the organization in vascular access issues and working closely with the staff to improve organizational access, flow and customer experience and assisting in the development of this new program. THIS IS AN MNA CONTRACT POSITION. Requirements
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Current MN nursing license. BLS certification. Current 2-3 years of pediatric nursing experience. Current minimum 1 year expertise in vascular access with children. Competent in assessment and treatment of VAD sites for all complications. Proficiency in ultrasound guided PIV placement, 1 year experience required.

Annual salaries displayed are based on full-time employment (40 standard hrs per week). Annual salaries for part-time positions will be prorated based on the employee's scheduled weekly hours in relation to the full-time standard. When determining individual pay rates, we carefully consider a wide range of factors including but not limited to market indicators for the specific role, the skills, education, training, credentials and experience of the candidate, internal equity and organizational needs. In addition to your salary, this position may be eligible for medical, dental, vision, retirement, and other fringe benefits. Positions that require night, weekend or on-call work may be eligible for shift differentials or premium pay.
