Night Crew Supervisor

The Night Crew Supervisor is responsible for leading overnight store operations, ensuring efficient stocking, merchandising, and store readiness for the next business day. This role supports execution of load processing, maintains store standards, and supervises night crew associates to deliver productivity, accuracy, and safety.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee nightly stocking of grocery, frozen, and general merchandise loads
  • Ensure product is stocked according to planograms and company standards
  • Maintain clean, organized aisles and backroom areas throughout the shift
  • Prepare the store for opening with a focus on shelf conditions and presentation
  • Assign tasks and direct workflow to ensure timely completion of freight
  • Monitor crew productivity and adjust priorities as needed
  • Ensure all pallets, totes, and backstock are worked or properly stored
  • Coordinate with day management on priorities, carryover, and special projects
  • Ensure proper product rotation and minimize shrink
  • Verify accurate stocking and placement of merchandise
  • Support inventory counts and scanning processes when required
  • Supervise, train, and coach night crew associates
  • Promote accountability, teamwork, and a strong work ethic
  • Address performance issues and recognize strong performers
  • Ensure clear communication of nightly goals and expectations
  • Enforce all safety protocols, including proper lifting and equipment use
  • Ensure aisles and backroom remain hazard-free during operations
  • Comply with company policies and procedures at all times

Qualifications

  • Previous grocery or stocking experience preferred
  • Prior leadership or supervisory experience is a plus
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to lead teams in a fast-paced, high-volume environment
  • Basic communication and problem-solving skills

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs frequently
  • Continuous standing, walking, bending, and stocking activities
  • Ability to work overnight hours and physically demanding shifts

Work Environment

  • Fast-paced retail environment during overnight hours
  • Limited customer interaction but high operational focus
  • Schedule includes nights, weekends, and holidays

  • Load completion rate and on-time execution
  • Store readiness for opening each day
  • Accuracy of stocking and merchandising standards

Candidates with unique qualifications may be considered for compensation above this range. Dependent on length of service, hours worked, any applicable collective bargaining agreement and/or Company policy, benefits may include medical, dental, vision, disability and life insurance, sick pay*, PTO/Vacation pay*, paid holidays*, bereavement pay and retirement benefits (pension and/or 401(k) eligibility). Associates in this position may be eligible for a quarterly bonus, subject to Company bonus plans.
