The Disney Growth, Commerce, and Identity Experience organization powers the foundational user experiences across Disney+, Hulu, ESPN+, and other Walt Disney Company business units. These experiences are built on a shared identity platform that enables secure, seamless authentication, registration, and account management for hundreds of millions of users globally. The Identity Client Experience team owns and evolves the critical web-based identity surfaces that serve as the front door to Disney's streaming ecosystem — including login, registration, account management, profile management, and identity verification flows. These systems are essential to enabling secure access, supporting commerce and marketing initiatives, and delivering trusted, scalable user experiences. We are seeking a Product Software Engineer II with deep web expertise and a passion for building secure, scalable, and highly reliable client experiences. In this role, you will design and develop core identity experiences used across Disney's streaming platforms, collaborate closely with cross-functional partners, and help shape the future of identity on the web. Why Join the Identity Client Experience Team Build the identity platform powering all of the Walt Disney Company including Disney+, Hulu and ESPN Work on systems that serve hundreds of millions of users globally Solve complex engineering challenges at massive scale Influence the architecture and evolution of Disney's identity ecosystem Collaborate with world-class engineers across streaming, commerce, and platform teams Responsibilities: Design, build, and maintain scalable, secure, and high-performance identity experiences including login, registration, account management, and profile flows across Disney's web platforms. Collaborate closely with product managers, designers, and backend engineers to translate business and user requirements into scalable technical solutions. Lead the development and delivery of complex features spanning multiple systems and teams, ensuring reliability, performance, and maintainability. Write clean, well-tested, and maintainable code while enforcing engineering best practices, including automated testing and code reviews. Serve as a technical leader and mentor, supporting team members through guidance, knowledge sharing, and constructive feedback. Drive improvements in engineering standards, tooling, architecture, and development processes to enhance team productivity and system quality. Troubleshoot and resolve complex production issues, identifying root causes and implementing long-term solutions. Contribute to architectural decisions and help evolve the identity platform to support scale, security, and future growth. Partner with cross-functional teams across commerce, streaming, security, and platform engineering to deliver cohesive identity solutions. Support software throughout its lifecycle, including deployment, monitoring, observability, and continuous improvement. Basic Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field of study, and/or equivalent work experience Minimum of 3 years of related work experience Basic foundational programming knowledge of web based applications Experience working within a modern Javascript workflow Proven ability to learn, understand, and adapt to new technologies Self-learner who identifies root causes and drives solutions Ability to write code that is easy to read and understand that follows standard methodologies Highly thorough with the ability to clearly detail work Exhibits emotional intelligence, managing oneself under high pressure/stressful situations and meets urgent timelines Optimally collaborates and communicates with team members Preferred Qualifications: Experience shipping a production React/Node.js application Experience with developing applications in cloud platforms (e.g. AWS) Experience working with Agile methodologies Working knowledge of web accessibility fundamentals
