The Consumer Software Engineering team requires an experienced Software Development Manager. The role involves managing a team that defines, develops, and tests system software solutions for human‑sensory applications in the consumer end market.
Key Responsibilities
Distill customer requirements into trackable tasks with progress planning and reporting.
Design, create, document, and maintain system‑level software applications.
Work in close collaboration with customers and development teams to develop system‑level solutions.
Direct the evolution of software development processes within the CSS business unit.
Manage and mentor a team of six senior engineers.
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to drive high‑quality software delivery.
Qualifications
10+ years of embedded software development experience.
Honors degree (or equivalent) in Electrical, Electronic, Computer Engineering, or related field.
Strong interest and experience in all phases of the software development process, including requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, distribution, and maintenance.
Proficiency in languages such as C, C++, Python, or other object‑oriented programming languages.
Experience with ARM Cortex‑M microcontroller platforms is an advantage.
Proven ability to motivate and develop a software team.
Useful Skills
Ability to understand customer value and translate it into requirement specifications.
Experience using bug‑tracking tools (e.g., Jira) and collaboration tools (e.g., Confluence, Microsoft Teams).
Excellent interpersonal skills with the capacity to develop and articulate system requirements internally or with customers.
Comfortable developing technical communications such as application notes and articles.
Ability to develop and deliver demonstration software for products and applications.
Travel Required: 10% of the time. Shift Type: 1st Shift/Days.
