About
ID: 2026-7888 | Category: Engineering | Position Type: Full-Time
Overview We are looking for a DevOps Engineer with a strong Java background to build, automate, and operate the infrastructure that powers our healthcare technology platform. You will be the connective tissue between development and operations — accelerating delivery pipelines, strengthening cloud infrastructure, and ensuring the reliability of critical healthcare systems.
Responsibilities
Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for Java-based microservices and enterprise healthcare applications using tools like GitLab CI/CD, Jenkins, or similar.
Customize CI/CD pipelines, including build stages, test automation, artifact management, and deployment strategies.
Automate infrastructure provisioning and configuration using Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform, CloudFormation, or similar tools).
Deploy, and manage AWS cloud infrastructure, including EC2, S3, ECS/EKS, RDS, and networking components.
Handle storage and access configurations such as S3 bucket policies, IAM roles, file permissions, and mount/server path configurations (EFS/NFS).
Implement and manage monitoring and logging solutions, including AWS CloudWatch, Log Insights, and integration with centralized logging tools (e.g., ELK, Splunk).
Troubleshoot application, infrastructure, and deployment issues, with strong Linux administration and debugging skills.
Write and maintain automation scripts using Bash, Shell, or Python for deployment and operational tasks.
Manage source control and branching strategies using Git (GitLab), including integration with CI/CD pipelines.
Apply security best practices in CI/CD, infrastructure, and application deployment (secrets management, IAM policies, vulnerability scanning).
Support containerization and orchestration using Docker and Kubernetes (EKS or on-prem clusters).
Collaborate with Java development teams to embed DevOps practices throughout the software delivery lifecycle.
Ensure system reliability, performance, and security compliance across healthcare environments.
Support integration with healthcare ecosystem partners.
Drive automation initiatives to improve deployment frequency, reduce lead time, and minimize incidents.
Mentor developers on DevOps tooling, practices, and cloud-native patterns.
Enforce security best practices — secrets management, IAM policies, vulnerability scanning, and HIPAA compliance controls.
Manage configuration and environment consistency across dev, staging, and production.
Collaborate with onshore and offshore teams in an Agile delivery model.
Support EDI healthcare transaction pipelines (837, 834, 835, 270/271, 276/277, 278) from an infrastructure and integration standpoint.
Conduct root cause analysis for production incidents and drive post‑mortem processes.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or higher in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
5+ years of DevOps, platform engineering, or SRE experience in an enterprise environment.
Strong Java development background — ability to read, debug, and work alongside Java/Spring Boot codebases.
Hands‑on experience building and maintaining CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI, or similar).
Proficiency with AWS cloud services and cloud‑native architecture patterns.
Experience with containerization (Docker) and container orchestration (Kubernetes / EKS).
Infrastructure‑as‑Code experience with Terraform or AWS CloudFormation.
Solid understanding of networking, security groups, VPCs, and IAM in AWS.
Familiarity with monitoring and observability tooling (CloudWatch, Datadog, Splunk, PagerDuty, etc.).
Experience working in onshore/offshore delivery models.
Understanding of SQL, XML, JSON, REST/SOAP Web Services, and middleware technologies.
Strong communication skills — able to bridge technical and non‑technical stakeholders.
Comfortable in a fully remote, async‑first work environment.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in healthcare IT — Medicare Advantage, Medicaid, or Commercial insurance domains.
Knowledge of HIPAA compliance, PHI data handling, and healthcare security standards.
Familiarity with EDI healthcare transactions (837, 834, 835, 270/271, 276/277, 278).
Exposure to healthcare ecosystem platforms such as HealthRules, TriZetto, NASCO, Advantasure, or Change Healthcare.
Experience supporting healthcare core administration systems — claims adjudication and enrollment platforms.
AWS certifications (Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or equivalent).
Experience with Agile/Scrum delivery and tools such as Jira and Confluence.
Familiarity with secrets management tools (HashiCorp Vault, AWS Secrets Manager).
Who you are
Automation‑first mindset — if something can be automated, you automate it.
Collaborative by nature, with a strong sense of ownership over platform reliability.
Adaptable and calm under pressure — you know how to prioritize and triage in a fast‑moving environment.
Committed to security, compliance, and quality in everything you ship.
Eager to mentor and share knowledge across development and operations teams.
Comfortable navigating ambiguity and building scalable processes where none exist yet.
