About

Our client, a law firm, is currently looking for an Accounting Technician to join their team. If you would like to be part of a fast-growing firm, this position is for you!
Full-time (37.5 hours per week). Permanent position.

Responsibilities
  • Manage trust accounting, including deposits, transfers, disbursements, and reconciliations ;
  • Ensure compliance and maintain accurate trust records in accordance with Law Society regulations ;
  • Participate in billing, accounts receivable tracking, and collections ;
  • Prepare financial reports and support month-end and year-end closing processes ;
  • Record journal entries, reconciliations, and necessary adjustments ;
  • Collaborate with lawyers, assistants, and other departments to resolve discrepancies and support operations ;
  • Contribute to process improvements, automation, and optimization of accounting systems ;
  • Provide administrative and accounting support as needed to ensure continuity of operations.

Requirements
  • 2 years of experience in accounting within a professional services environment (asset) ;
  • DEC in Accounting or a related field ;
  • Knowledge of trust account management (asset) ;
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, Word, Excel) ;
  • Bilingualism required to communicate with English-speaking suppliers (20%) 
  • Strong ability to interact with clients and team members ;
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and work independently or as part of a team ;
  • Strong organizational and time management skills ;
  • Ability to work effectively under pressure.
