About
Event Sales Manager The Event Sales Manager is responsible for driving event and catering revenue for the hotel by actively prospecting, selling, and servicing group and special event business. This role focuses on building new business, growing existing accounts, managing the sales process from inquiry through execution, and delivering exceptional client experiences. The Event Sales Manager reports to the Director of Sales and Marketing .
This position plays a key role in developing both new and repeat event business, executing sales strategies, and maximizing revenue through proactive outreach and relationship building. Key Responsibilities
Partner with the management team to develop and execute event and catering sales strategies.
Actively prospect, qualify, and secure new event and catering business.
Respond to event inquiries with timely, customized proposals in accordance with brand and property guidelines.
Prepare, negotiate, and manage event contracts and related documentation.
Achieve individual event sales goals while contributing to overall departmental performance.
Recommend achievable booking and revenue goals based on market conditions and business needs.
Conduct client calls, site visits, and presentations to close new and repeat business.
Support the operational execution of booked events, including event detailing, timelines, and client communication.
Analyze market trends and competitive data to drive revenue-generating strategies.Serve as the primary point of contact for event clients throughout the planning process and onsite execution.
Collaborate closely with internal teams including banquet, culinary, and operations to ensure flawless event delivery.
Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, community partners, and local businesses.
Qualifications & Requirements We are seeking a motivated, organized, and sales-driven professional with a passion for events and hospitality.
Associate’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, Event Planning, or a related field (Bachelor’s degree preferred).
Minimum of one year of experience in event sales, catering sales, hotel sales, or event management (Bachelor’s degree may substitute for experience).
Strong prospecting, negotiation, and closing skills.
Excellent organizational, time-management, and communication abilities.
Proven ability to build relationships and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally to deliver exceptional events.
Must be able to pass a background check.
