Schedule: Full time Shift: Night (United States of America) Address: 2525 S DOWNING ST City: DENVER State: Colorado Postal Code: 80210 Job Description: • Ensures exam rooms are clean, stocked, and ready for use, and that all equipment undergoes routine cleaning and safety checks. • Notifies appropriate personnel when inventory is low. • Educates patients and family members about MRI procedures, contrast use, and safety precautions, promoting comfort and cooperation throughout the exam. • Positions patients accurately and comfortably using appropriate immobilization and coil placement techniques to ensure high-quality imaging. • Prepares and administers IV contrast material following safety guidelines and monitors patients for adverse reactions. • Performs and documents daily system quality control (QC) checks in compliance with departmental policies and regulatory requirements. • Follows department protocols for patient identification, informed consent, and time-out procedures prior to starting exams. • Maintains accurate and timely documentation within the electronic medical record (EMR) and PACS systems. • Performs high-quality MRI examinations in accordance with physician orders and departmental protocols to ensure diagnostic image quality and patient safety. • Reviews patient history and clinical information to confirm exam appropriateness and identify potential contraindications (e.g., implanted devices, metal, claustrophobia, contrast allergies). • Screens all patients, staff, and equipment for MRI safety compliance per facility policy and current safety standards, including completion of required screening documentation. • Operates all imaging equipment safely and properly, including scanners, injectors, and monitors, adapting protocols for patients of all ages. • Other duties as assigned. Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: • Ability to communicate effectively and work with people of various diverse backgrounds [Required] • Knowledge of MRI procedures [Required] • Knowledge of MRI scanners [Required] • Ability to learn and grow with new technology [Required] • Customer Service skills [Required] • MRI Safety [Required] • Basic IV skills [Required] • Ability to work well in a constantly changing environment [Required] • Ability to work flexibly in variable shifts, occasionally including weekends or holidays [Required] • Ability to understand medical terminology [Required] • Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with patients and their family, hospital staff, nurses, physicians, and other health care professionals [Required] • Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English [Required] • Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office [Required] • General computer skills and PACS [Preferred] • General physics and anatomy [Preferred] • Experience/knowledge of computers/networking [Required] • Ability to quickly learn and follow departmental policies and procedures [Required] • Maintain responsibility for all Hospital continuing and annual education [Required] • Must maintain all required registries and licenses to perform imaging procedures [Required] • Ability to follow Basic Radiation Safety concepts of time, distance, and shielding to keep exposure levels ALARA for patients and staff [Required] • Ability to perform MRI procedures at a technical level not requiring constant supervision of technical detail [Required] • Excellent customer service skills [Required] • Ability to deal efficiently, ethically, and courteously with all patients and hospital personnel [Required] • Excellent verbal and written skills to facilitate communication with medical personnel that addresses the physical, psychosocial, educational, safety, and age-appropriate needs of the patient population served within the organization [Required] Education: • Associate [Preferred] • High School Grad or Equiv [Required] Field of Study: • N/A Work Experience: • 1+ years experience in radiology and completion of MRI training program [Preferred] Additional Information: Additional Licensure or certification requirements may apply depending on the specific unit or state in which this position is located.
