About

Senior Backend Developer Location: Remote, Mexico Engagement Type: Full-Time - Fractional (2-3 months)
The Work (What you’ll be doing & Your Impact)
Adapt and extend an existing backend architecture to support a new data centers knowledge management platform.
Work with Python-based services to power content delivery, business logic, and integrations.
Deploy and operate backend components within Google Cloud environments.
Integrate and support a CMS-driven system (Wagtail), enabling structured content management.
Collaborate closely with frontend developers to ensure seamless data flow and system performance.
Modify and optimize existing codebases rather than building from scratch, focusing on speed and reliability.
Support planning and execution phases, contributing to technical decisions and delivery timelines.
Needed Expertise (What you need to succeed in the role)
Strong experience with Python for backend development (APIs, services, application logic).
Hands‑on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP).
Experience designing and working with REST APIs.
Familiarity with backend architecture in production environments.
Experience working with any CMS (content modeling, content delivery, or integrations).
Ability to navigate and adapt existing systems quickly in a fast‑paced environment.
Strong debugging and problem‑solving skills.
Not Required But Nice to Have Expertise (What would be great for you to have)
Experience with Wagtail CMS.
Background working on internal tools or knowledge management platforms.
Experience working in short‑term, delivery‑focused engagements.
