Location Options: Chandler, AZ (highly preferred location), Charlotte, NC, Irving, TX onsite 3 days per week $49.84/hr W2 + benefits 1 year duration Project Overview:
Payments processing is one of the important business services which client provides for its customers globally. As part of the ongoing investment in the reliability and modernization of these systems, client is making a multi-year investment in the proactive identification of resiliency and process improvements. Within the Commercial Banking, Corporate Banking and Investment Banking Technology division, the Platform team provides management of the production environment. This includes: Standards and non-functional requirements Onboarding and change processes Automation, observability and orchestration SRE practices ITIL-aligned Incident, Problem and Knowledge processes A team of technology specialist practitioners are being acquired to join the Platform team to augment client's capabilities for the payments applications. These teams will be required to build, improve and operate the following functions: Release Management, providing a comprehensive pathway from client's SDLC into Production which ensures speedy and accurate delivery of change without impact to reliability. Integration Engineering, ensuring that client is consuming the right infrastructure and services and doing so in a normalized and optimized way which meet or exceed business requirements. Lower Environment Support, which extends the management of the production environment into those used for testing, thereby improving the speed, accuracy and coverage of test cases. Observability, Automation and Orchestration, providing ongoing and incremental improvements to client's product set and their implementation across the payments estate. In this role, candidate will: Support a suite of applications across varying technologies enabling wires and payment processing. Partner with cross-organizational teams to ensure end-to-end platform engineering capabilities are implemented, ensuring resilience, high performance, and high availability of the applications. Responsible for production deployments, ensuring governance and controls and act as a gatekeeper for any changes to the production environment. Provide cross-functional and cross-organizational coordination on root cause analysis for any production issues. Drive recovery efforts during incident calls. Gather essential information for root cause analysis and stability improvement. Review and analyze moderately complex operational support systems, application software, and system management tools to ensure the highest levels of systems and infrastructure availability. Conduct incident management and coordinate/implement solutions to prevent customer impact. Inform leadership on ongoing issues through formal communications in alignment with ITIL best practices. Learn new tools and concepts in platform engineering space to implement automation, building and testing CI/CD pipelines, Ansible, Prometheus, and Cloud engineering concepts etc. Contribute to increasing system efficiencies and lowering the human intervention time on related tasks. Required Skills:
5 plus years of Systems Engineering, Technology Architecture experience, or equivalent demonstrated through one or a combination of the following: work experience, training, military experience, education. 5 plus years of experience with Linux 3 plus years database support/knowledge with Mongo and/or SQL experience (Oracle SQL) 2 plus years app development or support in payments and/or wires applications Desired Skills:
Experience in payments and/or wires application technology (major/large banking technology experience). Exposure/knowledge/understanding MTS (Money Transfer System), Real Time/Instant Payments, and other payment origination applications and technologies. Linux bash scripting ability develop scripts on the fly and seek automation opportunities to improve/stabilize application space and reduce manual intervention requirements. Kafka understanding/experience. Proficiency in utilizing Service Now for incident, problem, and change management (opening incidents, reviewing changes, documenting records). Extremely strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills. Ability to identify root-cause issues/improvement opportunities, and design approaches. Knowledge and understanding of complex enterprise systems and frameworks including frontends, middleware, services layer, database, backend, and downstream interfaces. Hands on experience using monitoring tools like Splunk, AppDynamics, Grafana, Geneos ITRS etc.
