About

Position Overview We are searching for an experienced, detail‑oriented, and customer service focused DevOps Engineer to join our Product Lifecycle Management (PLM) and Computer‑Aided Design (CAD) Tools Team at the Applied Research Laboratory (ARL) at Penn State. The team works in collaboration with ARL Research Offices to support research and engineering data via Siemens Teamcenter and a suite of engineering design tools. Responsibilities Design, code, test, debug, implement, modify, and maintain Siemens Teamcenter PLM environments. Assist with the integration of Teamcenter with Mechanical CAD/Electrical CAD tools and other enterprise applications (e.g., NX, SolidWorks, Altium, CADENAS PARTSolutions). Establish, implement, and document technology integration and migration strategies; monitor overall performance to proactively identify potential issues and tune appropriately at all levels of the stack. Analyze and translate business process requirements into technical solutions. Ensure compliance with standards, monitor threats, alerts, and security vulnerabilities, and maintain disaster recovery plans and business continuity efforts. Solve interoperability and other advanced issues via helpdesk systems. Develop, test, and implement application enhancements and new integrations. Design and tune application, database, or systems for optimal use of resources. Supervise a growing staff, including hiring, development, and performance management. Required Qualifications Proficiency with Windows Server, Red Hat Linux, and SELinux system administration. Programming skills in multiple languages. VMware and virtual machine management. Oracle databases and application servers (e.g., Apache Tomcat). Strong analytical skills to diagnose and resolve technical issues. Effective communication and organizational skills in multidisciplinary environments. Preferred Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Sciences, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical field. Experience with PLM systems implementation (particularly Siemens Teamcenter) in a production environment. Enterprise software integration and support (COTS tools). Microsoft Office Product Suite proficiency (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Project, Visio). Prior supervisory or leadership experience. Eligibility to access classified information at the Secret level or higher and subject to a government background investigation if required. Benefits Salary range: $81,312.00 – $137,280.00.
