We are seeking a Senior Azure DevOps Administrator to own administration, governance, security, integrations, and continuous improvement of our Microsoft Azure DevOps environment. This role will serve as the primary platform administrator and subject matter expert across Azure Repos, Pipelines, Boards, permissions, service connections, and enterprise integrations.
The ideal candidate brings hands‑on Azure DevOps administration experience, strong platform governance discipline, and a practical understanding of CI/CD, Git workflows, Agile delivery, security controls, reporting, and user support.
This highly visible role partners with engineering, DevOps, Agile delivery, security, infrastructure, architecture, compliance, and business stakeholders. The role also leads the Azure DevOps governance committee and helps mature platform standards, controls, and operating practices.
Essential Functions
Azure DevOps Administration
Administer Azure DevOps projects, repos, pipelines, boards, permissions, service connections, extensions, and integrations.
Standardize configuration, naming conventions, permissions, work items, and cleanup of unused assets.
Monitor platform usage, health, consumption, and admin activity to improve governance, cost control, risk management, and user experience.
CI/CD, Git, and Pipeline Governance
Govern CI/CD pipelines, Git repositories, branch policies, pull requests, build validation, and secure development practices.
Troubleshoot build/release issues, permissions, agent pools, variable groups, environments, approvals, service principals, and dependencies.
Maintain reusable pipeline templates, controls, and guardrails in partnership with engineering, DevOps, cloud, and security teams.
Security, Compliance, and Guardrails
Partner with security teams to implement DevSecOps practices, security‑as‑code standards, and Azure DevOps guardrails.
Maintain Wiz and other security integrations to improve visibility, control, and compliance across code, pipelines, cloud resources, and delivery workflows.
Support secure pipeline controls, audits, access reviews, privileged roles, service accounts, tokens, extensions, and credentials.
Agile, Scrum, and Kanban Support
Configure and support Azure Boards for Agile, Scrum, and Kanban teams.
Manage teams, areas, iterations, boards, backlogs, work item types, queries, dashboards, delivery plans, tags, and process configuration.
Partner with Agile leaders, Scrum Masters, Product Owners, and delivery stakeholders to improve planning, tracking, backlog hygiene, and cross‑team visibility.
Integrations and Platform Ecosystem
Maintain Azure DevOps integrations with security, cloud, identity, reporting, ITSM, notification, and development tools.
Administer and troubleshoot service connections, webhooks, extensions, APIs, automation scripts, and third‑party tools.
Required Qualifications
Extensive hands‑on experience administering Microsoft Azure DevOps in an enterprise environment.
Strong knowledge of Azure DevOps organizations, projects, repositories, pipelines, boards, artifacts, service connections, permissions, process templates, extensions, and integrations.
Deep understanding of Git workflows, branching strategies, pull requests, branch policies, repository governance, and code review practices.
Experience governing Azure Pipelines for CI/CD, including YAML pipelines, build and release workflows, variable groups, environments, approvals, agent pools, and service connections.
Experience configuring Azure Boards for Agile, Scrum, and Kanban delivery, including backlogs, sprints, area and iteration paths, queries, dashboards, and delivery tracking.
Strong understanding of DevOps security practices, including least privilege, secrets management, secure service connections, auditability, privileged access, and policy enforcement.
Experience integrating security tooling into DevOps workflows; Wiz experience is strongly preferred.
Ability to troubleshoot complex issues across permissions, pipelines, repositories, integrations, boards, identity, and platform configuration.
Strong communication skills with the ability to guide users, explain technical issues clearly, and advise teams on best practices.
Experience partnering with engineering, Agile delivery, security, infrastructure, compliance, architecture, and business stakeholders.
Ability to lead governance forums, facilitate decisions, document standards, and drive action items to completion.
Strong documentation discipline, including standards, procedures, runbooks, and user‑facing guidance.
Preferred Qualifications
Microsoft Azure or Azure DevOps certifications.
Experience with Azure, Entra ID, identity and access management, service principals, managed identities, and enterprise authentication models.
Experience with Infrastructure as Code, policy‑as‑code, security‑as‑code, and DevSecOps operating models.
Experience with Wiz, Git, ServiceNow, and related enterprise tooling.
Experience building Azure DevOps reports or dashboards using Analytics Views, OData, REST APIs, Power BI, or custom automation.
Experience with Azure DevOps REST APIs, PowerShell, Azure CLI, or scripting for automation and platform administration.
Experience in regulated, security‑conscious, or audit‑driven environments.
Experience defining enterprise DevOps standards for naming conventions, project lifecycle, repository hygiene, pipeline controls, and access governance.
The annual full time base salary range for this role is
$135,000.00 - $165,000.00
Specific compensation is determined through interviews and a review of relevant education, experience, training, skills, geographic location and alignment with market data. Additionally, certain positions may be eligible to receive a discretionary bonus as determined by bonus program guidelines, position eligibility and SitusAMC Senior Management approval. SitusAMC offers PTO and paid holidays, the terms of which are set forth in the program policies.
