About

Production Support Engineer Overview Hands-on engineering role supporting manufacturing cells in a medium/high-volume production environment. Requires a strong technical background and experience in manufacturing process support and continuous improvement. Key Responsibilities Support manufacturing processes and implement process improvements for existing products. Define, validate, and optimise manufacturing processes for new and upgraded products. Support the design, maintenance, and improvement of mechanical/electrical assembly jigs, fixtures, and test equipment. Perform process analysis and product quality reporting. Collaborate with production teams and engineers to improve quality, efficiency, and manufacturing performance. Work with product design teams to ensure products are designed for efficient assembly (Design for Manufacture/Assembly). Essential Requirements Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related discipline. Minimum of two years' experience in a medium/high-volume manufacturing environment. Experience applying structured problem-solving methodologies. Strong practical, hands-on engineering skills. Excellent teamwork and communication abilities with a proactive attitude. Desirable Skills Knowledge and practical application of Six Sigma methodologies, including Statistical Process Control (SPC), Gauge R&R studies, and Process Capability analysis. Experience using Excel and business intelligence tools for data analysis. Familiarity with Industry 4.0 technologies and real-time manufacturing analytics using tools such as Power BI, SQL, and VBA. Experience leading or supporting Lean Manufacturing projects. Experience designing, validating, and implementing assembly fixtures. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, including GD&T. Ideal Candidate Enthusiastic, practical engineer with a strong mechanical background. Well-organised with excellent interpersonal skills. Passionate about continuous improvement, quality, and supporting manufacturing operations.
