Exempt Position

The Staff Development Manager is responsible for ensuring that appropriate orientation, in-service education, training, and retraining are provided to all staff members. This position will be performed in accordance with TANDEM LIVING Core Values, Mission Statement, and regulations.

Qualifications:

  • Current Pennsylvania license to practice as a Registered Nurse (RN) required. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) strongly preferred.
  • Current CPR certification required and willingness to maintain hands-on CPR certification.
  • Three (3) to five (5) years of experience as a Registered Nurse in a long-term care setting required. Prior nursing management experience preferred.
  • Previous teaching and/or staff training experience preferred.
  • Must obtain and maintain Train-the-Trainer Certification for Medication Technician (Med Tech) training.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Provide leadership and oversight for the LPN Clinical Educator and RN Staff Educator, fostering teamwork, accountability, and professional development.
  • Develop, implement, and maintain comprehensive education and training programs for Nursing, Personal Care, and Residential Living team members, while ensuring accurate training records and regulatory compliance.
  • Design and deliver engaging, interactive learning experiences, including new hire orientation, clinical education, in-service training, and ongoing professional development opportunities.
  • Lead orientation and onboarding programs for licensed nursing staff, including EMR training, job-specific competencies, and role-based education to support a successful transition into practice.
  • Collaborate with Nursing Leadership to assess educational needs, analyze quality and clinical outcomes data, and develop targeted training initiatives that enhance resident care and support regulatory standards.
  • Oversee employee health and compliance programs, including annual training completion, TB testing, Hepatitis B immunization tracking, influenza vaccination administration, and other staff health requirements.
