Travelers is seeking a Gen AI Data Engineer II to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be instrumental in developing and maintaining robust, scalable, and efficient solutions to support our Generative AI initiatives. You will collaborate closely with data scientists, machine learning engineers, and software developers to design and implement innovative data‑driven applications and systems. Design, develop, and deploy solutions for Gen AI data engineering activities, including data ingestion, processing, storage, and analysis. Collaborate with data scientists and engineers to create Retrieval‑Augmented Generation (RAG) solutions and integrate LLM models into production‑grade applications. Develop APIs and microservices to facilitate data access and integration across various components of the Gen AI platform. Implement best practices for code quality, testing, and documentation to ensure the reliability, maintainability, and scalability of our software systems. Stay up‑to‑date with the latest trends and technologies in data engineering and Gen AI, applying them to enhance our platform. Perform other duties as assigned. Ideal Candidate
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred. Four to six years of programming/development experience. Proven experience as a Full‑Stack Developer or similar role, with a strong focus on data engineering and Gen AI applications. Proficiency in Python and SQL; experience with React.js and back‑end frameworks. Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS (Lambda, S3, EC2, RDS, Redshift) and containerization/orchestration technologies such as Docker, Kubernetes, or ECS. Strong understanding of database systems and data processing frameworks, e.g., SQL, NoSQL, Spark, Databricks. Good understanding of Gen AI concepts such as Agentic Frameworks, RAG, LLM, Chunking, and hyper‑parameters. Excellent problem‑solving skills and ability to work in a fast‑paced, collaborative environment. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively interact with cross‑functional teams. Must Have
