About
About the Role We're hiring a Data Engineer to design, build, and optimize modern data platforms on the Microsoft stack, with Microsoft Fabric at the center. You'll deliver cloud-native solutions that power analytics, reporting, and decision-making across enterprise environments.
The team is part of a global consulting firm working with energy and financial services clients on large transformation programs. Data strategy and platform skills are a recurring need here, and if you've worked around ETRM or energy trading data, that's a real differentiator.
What You'll Do
Design scalable data architectures on Microsoft Fabric: OneLake, Lakehouses, Warehouses, Pipelines, Spark, and Shortcuts
Build and tune ingestion and transformation pipelines with Fabric Data Pipelines, Dataflows Gen2, PySpark, SQL, Azure Data Factory, and Azure Synapse
Develop reusable frameworks for data quality, metadata-driven processing, schema management, and incremental ETL/ELT
Partner with analytics and business teams on semantic models, reporting solutions, and Power BI integrations
Support client engagements through workshops, roadmaps, effort estimation, and stakeholder communication
Qualifications
3 to 7+ years of data engineering experience on Microsoft and Azure technologies
Hands-on depth with Microsoft Fabric, including OneLake, Lakehouse, Warehouse, Data Pipelines, Spark Notebooks, and Power BI integration
Advanced SQL, T-SQL, and PySpark/Python, plus modern modeling techniques (star schema, snowflake, data vault)
Experience with CDC, SCD, incremental processing, partitioning, and performance optimization at scale
Strong communication and stakeholder skills, ideally from consulting or client-facing work
Nice to Have
Experience in or around ETRM and energy trading data environments
CI/CD and DevOps practices, including Git and deployment pipelines
Streaming ingestion and real-time analytics architectures
Supporting data science workloads and feature stores
Why Join Us You'll build platforms that enterprise clients actually run their business on, with the autonomy to shape architecture decisions rather than inherit them. The work keeps coming, the stack stays modern, and the people around you know the domain.
