Lead Electrical Design Engineer
Start date: ASAP Length: 6 months + Contract: £450 - £550 per day (outside IR35) Location: South England - multiple locations Key words: Electrical Design, Substations, Power, Energy Infrastructure, Design Management, Net ZeroTurner Lovell is recruiting for a Lead Electrical Design Engineer to join one of the UK's leading power infrastructure contractors, delivering major transmission and distribution projects across a long-term electricity framework.
This opportunity would suit an experienced Lead Electrical Engineer, Lead Primary Engineer, or Lead Protection & Control Engineer looking to take technical ownership of a portfolio of major HV infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
Lead the technical delivery of electrical design across a portfolio of HV/EHV infrastructure projects. Provide technical leadership and guidance to Primary, Protection & Control, Civil and other engineering disciplines. Review, approve and coordinate engineering deliverables to ensure compliance with client specifications and industry standards. Act as the primary technical interface with clients, consultants and internal stakeholders. Resolve complex technical issues and support engineering decision-making throughout project delivery. Coordinate multidisciplinary design activities to achieve programme, quality and commercial objectives. Support design assurance, constructability reviews and value engineering initiatives. Provide technical support during procurement, construction, commissioning and project handover.Key Requirements
Strong background in Primary Design, Protection & Control or Electrical Design within the UK transmission or distribution sector. Experience leading the electrical design delivery of multiple concurrent power infrastructure projects. Proven ability to review and approve engineering deliverables while providing technical leadership to multidisciplinary teams. Experience working with TSOs, DNOs, ICPs or major utility clients.
