Responsibilities
Implement and configure data pipelines connecting SAP MES (ManufacturingExecution System), SAP S/4 (labor and P&L), and PLC machine data feeds to the downstream reporting and dashboard layers
Support system integration testing across the GCP primary cloud environment and Azure Power BI hosting environment, operating within separate tenant constraints and without access to Ford’s GDI infrastructure
Execute data acquisition workflows and validate data fidelity from source systems through the Apache Doris real-time data warehouse layer
Perform latency testing between GCP and the Marshall plant site under the guidance of the Senior Data Engineer to inform architecture decisions
Support BI Engineers during dashboard development sprints by ensuring clean, reliable, well-documented data models and source layer availability
Assist with documentation of data flows, integration points, and pipeline logic for handoff and long-term maintainability
Required Qualifications
3–5 years of experience in data engineering with hands-on pipeline development experience in production environments
Working proficiency with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) data services (BigQuery, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, or similar)
Experience integrating with SAP systems (MES or S/4) or comparable enterprise ERP/MES data sources
Familiarity with real-time or near-real-time data ingestion patterns and tools
Understanding of cloud networking concepts relevant to latency testing and infrastructure validation
Proficiency in Python, SQL, or equivalent data engineering languages and transformation frameworks
Ability to work collaboratively within an agile/sprint-based delivery model
Strong attention to detail in data validation, testing, and documentation
