Your new company A leading higher education institution is seeking an experienced Administrator to support a busy academic department based within a major healthcare setting in Cork. This is an opportunity to join a collaborative and professional environment, supporting teaching, research, and student activities across undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. Your new role As Senior Administrator, you will provide comprehensive administrative support to the Head of Department and academic staff while overseeing the day-to-day operations of a busy department. You will coordinate academic programmes, manage student and examination administration, liaise with internal and external stakeholders, support research activities, supervise administrative staff, maintain departmental records and websites, and ensure compliance with organisational policies and procedures. The role will also involve responsibility for departmental finance administration, budgeting support, procurement, payroll coordination, and financial reporting. What you'll need to succeed To be successful in this role, you will have previous experience in a senior administrative, office management, or executive support position within a complex organisation. You will possess excellent organisational and prioritisation skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple competing deadlines. Experience coordinating stakeholders, handling financial administration, processing payroll-related activities, and supporting senior managers is highly desirable. Strong IT skills, excellent communication abilities, and a proactive approach to problem-solving are essential.
