ROLE PURPOSE: To drive the mobile library vehicle and carry out routine tasks to ensure efficient operation of the service, serving customers in a helpful and professional manner. Key Responsibilities Drive the mobile library on set routes and timetables, manoeuvring the vehicle safely at all times Complete all daily vehicle check sheets and ensure the vehicle is clean and roadworthy; report any maintenance faults Operate the wheelchair lift safely, taking responsibility for the health and safety of yourself, staff and service users Serve members of the public in a polite and welcoming manner, adhering to customer care and equalities policies Operate the library computer system to process circulation of items Register new members and maintain membership records in line with GDPR Answer enquiries relating to library stock and facilities Shelve returned items, tidy shelves and maintain a high standard of presentation Handle complaints in accordance with the complaints procedure Adhere to safeguarding procedures and guidelines on handling unacceptable behaviour Comply with the Coun...
