Applications are invited for the role of Senior Clinical Engineer Essential Criteria Hold as a minimum a recognised qualification at Quality and Qualifications Ireland, Level 8 or higher, in one of the following engineering disciplines; Electronic Electrical Instrument Physics Industrial Instrumentation Applied Physics Mechanical Mechatronic Biomedical Engineering A minimum of four to five years relevant Hospital experience Membership of BEAI, or eligibility for membership Hands-on experience diagnosing and repairing a wide range of medical devices (electrical, electronic, mechanical, and IT-integrated systems) Experience supporting medical equipment procurement, installation, commissioning, and acceptance testing.

Awareness of hospital procurement processes and capital equipment approval pathways.
Experience working with clinical teams and external contractors in a healthcare setting.
Experience supporting or mentoring junior technical staff.
Strong understanding of hospital operations and clinical workflows.
Understanding of clinical governance, risk management, and patient safety principles.
Familiarity with medical equipment lifecycle management and replacement planning.
Strong technical knowledge of electrical and electronic engineering principles.
Medical device safety testing, calibration, fault diagnosis, and troubleshooting methodologies.
Knowledge of networked/IT-integrated medical devices and systems.
Desirable Criteria Experience working in specialist clinical areas (e.g.
theatres, ICU.
HDU).
Experience leading clinical equipmentreplacement or upgrade projects.
Knowledge of medical device regulations, safety standards, and healthcare compliance frameworks, including HIQA standards, JCI accreditation requirements, and JAG standards.
Advanced knowledge of specialist clinical equipment. xyswxtq
Experience supporting vendor-level diagnostics and advanced device configuration.
