Job Schedule: 9/80: Employees work 9 out of every 14 days – totaling 80 hours worked, and have every other Friday off Job Description: L3Harris is seeking systems engineers in Rochester NY to lead a dynamic team to develop EO/IR solutions. They will have Chief Systems Engineering responsibilities consisting of the synthesis, definition, analysis, development, integration & test of electro-optic systems for airborne and ground surveillance. Candidate will work closely with cross functional members in engineering, manufacturing, & program management to design, develop & build high performance systems. Essential Functions: Design/develop system architectures, define key capabilities and performance requirements Define total systems design and technology that meet mission requirements Define system implementation approach and operational concepts Develop models and architectural guidelines for future technologies Ensure requirements are met and evaluate performance measures Perform system and subsystem integration, technical risk assessment, technical planning, verification and validation, and supportability analyses Understand and implement systems engineering processes on programs and projects Create and update essential engineering documents including specifications, reports, plans, technical memos, and presentations Coordinate with other functional engineers to develop and test products, resolve compatibility and interface problems with other subsystems Provide timely production support and problem resolution Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of 12 years of prior relevant experience. Graduate Degree and a minimum of 10 years of prior related experience. In lieu of a degree, minimum of 16 years of prior related experience. Active Secret US Security Clearance Preferred Additional Skills: MBSE (Model Based Systems Engineering) DOORS, Jama, and Cameo experience Control system modeling using Matlab/Simulink Experience with cyber security Video transport and encoding (H.264, MISB and SMPTE standards) Video processing algorithms Understanding of defense products for the environments and platforms L3Harris supports Ability to effectively plan and organize projects and manage priorities Excellent organization and multi-tasking abilities with the ability to resolve conflicting priorities Strong mechanical and geo-spatial comprehension skills Strong interpersonal and facilitation skills
