Quality Team Lead

The Quality Team Lead is responsible for overseeing quality control processes in the solar manufacturing plant, ensuring that products meet industry standards and company specifications. This role involves supervising quality technicians, coordinating inspections, troubleshooting defects, and driving continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product reliability and manufacturing efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure all products meet required quality standards and customer specifications.
  • Conduct inspections and audits throughout the production process to detect defects or deviations.
  • Enforce adherence to ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and other relevant quality and environmental standards.
  • Implement and monitor corrective and preventive action (CAPA) processes.
  • Lead, mentor, and train quality technicians and inspectors.
  • Assign tasks, monitor performance, and provide feedback to team members.
  • Ensure the team follows standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety protocols.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to enhance quality and efficiency.
  • Work closely with engineering, production, and supply chain teams to resolve quality issues.
  • Conduct root cause analysis (RCA) for defects and implement corrective actions.
  • Maintain accurate documentation and reports related to quality metrics and compliance.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to resolve raw material quality issues.
  • Address customer concerns regarding product quality and drive resolution.
  • Participate in customer and third-party audits as required.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • 3+ years of experience in quality control within a manufacturing environment (solar or electronics preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems (QMS), Six Sigma, and lean manufacturing principles.
  • Experience with tools such as FMEA, SPC, and Root Cause Analysis.
  • Excellent leadership, problem-solving, and communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and quality management software.

Work Environment:

  • The role involves physical labor, exposure to varying temperatures, and handling potentially hazardous materials. Proper personal protective equipment (PPE) will be provided and must be used at all times.
  • May be required to work after hours and on weekends or holidays.
  • This position does not support immigration sponsorship.
  • The range for this position is $29.00 hourly rate - $31.00 hourly rate. Starting pay for the successful applicant is dependent on a variety of job-related factors, including but not limited to geographic location, market demands, experience, training, and education.
